Catalyst
Behavioral Services, originally called Drug Recovery, Inc., was founded
in 1973 by a group of recovering alcoholics and drug addicts to help
others who wanted to stop using drugs and alcohol. The original structure
of the facility was a walk-in, non-medical non-profit clinic. In the
years since its inception, Catalyst Behavioral Services has grown to
encompass programs for court-ordered behavior modification, residential
treatment facilities and an outpatient clinic.
Catalyst Behavioral Services’ purpose is to; help drug users and
addicts recognize, control, and overcome their drug problem enabling them
to function properly and productively in society; provide personnel and
facilities for individual and group counseling of drug users and addicts;
coordinate the sundry related community resources necessary to accomplish
the restoration and integration of these drug users and addicts into society,
and; promote human research in areas of social and personal adjustment.
At any moment in any day, Catalyst Behavioral Services is helping hundreds
of people gain control over their substance abuse problems and learn to
live more productive lives.
Catalyst Behavioral Services continues the vision and purpose of its originators
by providing quality care and treatment at reasonable prices. Providing
substance abuse treatment is not without cost, but no one is turned away
because of inability to pay as long as space is available. While the corporate
world might call this a recipe for disaster, Catalyst Behavioral Services
has not only maintained program solvency, but has actually expanded services
and created new programs.
In recent years, Catalyst Behavioral Services has also placed a great importance
on certification for our counselors. All programs housed under the Catalyst
family name are certified by the Oklahoma Department of Substance Abuse
Services (ODMHSAS) and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation
Services (CARF).
